Solidarity doesn’t end at retirement!
Laborers Rising & LIUNA AA Caucus visit retired
brothers & sisters in the Philadelphia area-

Laborers Rising and the LIUNA African American Caucus had the privilege of visiting our retired brothers and sisters throughout the Philadelphia, Baltimore, & Washington DC vicinity, sharing conversation, gratitude, fellowship, and heartfelt appreciation (as well as goodie bags!) with the men and women whose hard work, sacrifice, and dedication helped build not only our union, but the communities we serve every day.
These visits were inspired by the leadership and example of dedicated union leaders in the local labor movement who understand that honoring our retirees is not simply a tradition—it is a responsibility. Their commitment to ensuring that retired members remain connected, valued, and remembered reflects the very best of what union solidarity represents.
Our retired brothers and sisters are the foundation upon which today's labor movement stands. They fought for better wages, stronger benefits, safer workplaces, and greater opportunities for future generations of workers.
We are proud to honor these remarkable men and women and grateful for the opportunity to give back to those who gave so much. Because in LIUNA, solidarity is not limited by active membership—it is a lifelong bond.
AA Caucus proudly hosts Leadership Training
for Black LIUNA Leaders in Philadelphia

The AA Caucus was proud to host a dynamic Leadership Training for Black leaders of LIUNA and the National Postal Mail Handlers Union at the Laborers District Council Training and Learning Center in Philadelphia.
With inspiring appearances from local powerhouse elected officials, strong voices from local LIUNA leaders like Sam Staten Jr. and Ryan Boyer, and solidarity from Philip Ameris, the day reflected the strength and unity of our movement.
Through impactful classes, meaningful discussions, and dedicated leadership development, participants sharpened the skills needed to lead with confidence and purpose. The networking reception, Executive Board meeting, and panel of discussion including a Q&A discussion, created powerful opportunities to collaborate, connect, and build lasting relationships across regions.
Together, we remain dedicated to uplifting our communities, empowering strong and capable leaders, and reinforcing a future where Black leadership within the labor movement continues to thrive, lead, and inspire meaningful change that is rooted in pride, purpose, and lasting impact.
LiUNA VP + Caucus President Ryan Boyer:
Ranked #4 in Philly’s Top 150 —
Leading with power and purpose.

We are so proud to share that our Caucus President and LIUNA VP, Mr. Ryan Boyer, has officially earned the #4 spot on Philadelphia’s Top 150, a recognition that reflects his growing influence and the powerful impact of his work.
As the newly appointed Vice President at Large for LIUNA, brother Boyer continues to expand opportunities for working families across North America. What makes this honor truly significant is his commitment to opening doors for communities that were too often left out. By creating real pathways into the building and construction trades for people of color, he is helping more Philadelphians access stable, family-supporting careers and long-term economic mobility.
Ryan Boyer isn’t just rising — he’s lifting entire communities with him,
and we are so grateful to have him on our team.

A Legacy of Labor, A Future of Unity —
LIUNA AA Caucus Connects with Local 183 in Toronto.
The LIUNA African American (AA) Caucus Board Members recently had the honor of touring the impressive new headquarters of LIUNA Local 183 in Toronto, Canada. Power in Motion:
AA Caucus, Local 79 & 100BCW Unite for Justice
For the second year in a row, on a powerful day of unity, history, and pride, members of the New England African American (AA) Caucus traveled to the Bronx, New York, to stand shoulder to shoulder with our union family from Local 79 and 100 Black Construction Workers (100BCW) in a commemorative Juneteenth March.
Juneteenth, recognized as a federal holiday honoring the emancipation of enslaved African Americans, is a moment to reflect, remember, and rise. This year, it became more than a day of recognition — it was a call to action. Our brothers and sisters from the New England AA Caucus answered that call by joining fellow labor leaders, activists, and community members in a vibrant show of solidarity in the heart of the Bronx.
The march was a powerful reminder of the strength that comes from unity. Union banners flew high, chants echoed through the streets, and pride radiated from every step. Participants celebrated the achievements of African Americans in the labor movement while recommitting to the ongoing fight for equity, justice, and opportunity for all.
This collaboration between Local 79, 100BCW, and the New England AA Caucus highlighted the unwavering bond across regions and trades — a true testament to the spirit of brotherhood and sisterhood that defines the labor movement.
We are proud to have marched in solidarity, and prouder still to be part of a movement that honors its history while building a more inclusive and empowered future.
Juneteenth is not just a date on the calendar.
It's a movement. It's a legacy. And together, we continue to carry it forward.

A. Phillip Randolph Conference in Chicago, IL
Members of the AA Caucus participated in the 60th Anniversary of the A. Phillip Randolph Conference in Chicago, IL. Members served on panel presentations, chaired plenary sessions and invigorated attendees with union chants.

She Builds. She Leads. She Inspires.
LIUNA AA Caucus at Tradeswomen Build Nations!
This year, members of the LIUNA African American Caucus and the LIUNA Women's Caucus proudly joined thousands of sisters from across the country at the Tradeswomen Build Nations Conference and Parade — the largest gathering of women in the construction trades.
The energy was electric as women marched shoulder to shoulder, celebrating strength, unity, and the bright future we are building together. For the LIUNA Caucus members, participation was more than just presence — it was a statement. A statement of pride in our heritage, a commitment to empowering women in the trades, and a dedication to lifting each other up as we pave the way for the next generation.
The conference’s motto, “She’s not waiting, She’s leading!”, could be seen and felt in every step of the parade. LIUNA sisters embodied that spirit — showing the world that women in the labor movement are not only breaking barriers, but also leading the charge in shaping a stronger, more inclusive workforce for all.
